Meet Your Local LINX Dealer

Introducing Tim Lawson

Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, L.H. Brubaker Appliances is a family owned and operated business that has been serving a broad area of central and south-central Pennsylvania since 1932. Tim Lawson, the Water Department Sales Manager there, didn’t start out in the water business, but he has certainly come to love what he does. Every day, Tim gets to sell a product that helps others achieve their own wellbeing in life. Tim came across the LINX® Drinking Water System when he was looking through a water purification magazine a few years ago. What really caught his eye was that it was cutting edge technology that stood apart from all the rest. They ordered one for the office. Their goal was to test it and see if it really did perform the way the ad said it would. They ordered the LINX 140 system and once it was installed, they were beyond impressed. Tim recalls, “Not only did it perform exactly like it said it would, but the quality of the water produced was exceptional.” The ability to control the taste of the water with the LINX Dial-A-Taste® system is not only unique; it also proved to be a huge selling point for them. Overtime, they realized that the LINX system is perfect for the high-end appliances they sell in their store. The Sub-Zero refrigerators, for example, are very difficult to hook up to a Reverse Osmosis system and have it work properly; the pressure required for an RO to produce adequate ejections is just too high for a Sub-Zero. They found that the LINX system requires just over half the amount of pressure of an RO; making it ideally suited for install with a Sub-Zero system. In fact, it works so well with Sub-Zero, as well as Electrolux refrigerators, that about 99.9 percent of the time, when they sell one of those refrigerators, they also sell a LINX system to go with it. Tim also believes that in addition to the ideal water pressure and ability to dial your taste; with the push for water conservation and tougher regulations on salt discharge, being able to offer the LINX system sets you apart from everyone else. In fact, it is the now famous, “Insane Water Waste” video on Pionetic’s website and YouTube Channel that tends to pique a lot of consumers’ interests for LINX Systems. Tim says they get several calls a week just from consumers who saw that video and want to learn more about RO systems, water waste, and what the LINX System can do to save water. Oddly, Tim got a call just two weeks ago from a large corporation in New Jersey, who bought nine LINX systems outright simply from watching the videos about the products on Pionetics® YouTube Channel. Also setting him apart are Tim’s core values; (1) We are judged by our actions, not our intentions, (2) Do the right thing, even when it is not easy, and (3) Be better today than you were yesterday. Tim firmly believes, “It is up to you whether you have a good day or a bad day, it is what you make of it.” He is an easy going guy, who can and does talk to anybody, sometimes to the chagrin of his family. “If I think someone wants to have a conversation, I’ll strike one up; you never know what you might learn!” Tim believes that his greatest achievement in life was finding his wife; they fell in love over warm brownies. They have been married for almost 25 years and have three wonderful children. He loves spending time with his family and even manages to squeeze in some time at the gym with his twins twice a week and a round of golf every now and again.

Pionetics is proud to have some of the best water filtration dealers in the world. They come from many Lars Eriksondifferent backgrounds and live in different Lars Eriksonparts of the world but they all have one thing in common … a passion for innovative and industry changing technology. Lars Erikson, owner of Premier Water Technologies in Chanhassen, MN, is a prime example of the enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals who offer our LINX Drinking Water Systems to their customers.

On any given day, Lars is out selling Premier Water’s products, troubleshooting customers’ issues with their existing systems, tweaking products, doing installations, buckling down with administrative work or collecting water samples for either private consumers or for prospective home buyers looking for certified lab testing. There is nothing routine about his day, but he takes pride in having a useful place in his community and being able to offer the very best customer service possible. Having the opportunity to offer a superior product along with expert knowledge, enabling customers to understand exactly what they are getting, and assuring them that they are getting the very best is what brings him the most satisfaction.

Lars attended Minnesota State University, with the intent of becoming a Physical Therapist. He grew up with parents who were conscious about health and fitness so it seemed like a good fit. Along the way however, he switched gears and ended up graduating with a degree in Management and Information Systems. His first job out of college was as a computer programmer; he loves technology but discovered that working in a cubical all day just wasn’t for him.

When the opportunity arose to work with his father-in-law in the water business, he jumped in with both feet. Being able to offer a genuine and beneficial service to others has been very rewarding, and when combined with his love of gadgets and technology, he has really found his niche. He is constantly on the lookout for new, but vetted technology that will set Premier Water apart from their competitors. He is not looking for the next fad, or something so new that there are kinks to work out, but real, tangible, proven technology. LINX Technology was exactly what he was looking for – proven technology utilizing ion exchange, yet unique in its use as a water filtration system, and so his relationship with Pionetics began.

So why is he such an advocate of the LINX System? Well the simplest answer is because he views it as the future of the water industry. Reverse Osmosis (RO) produces clean water but there is always going to be the issue of water waste with that type of system. With the LINX Drinking Water System, water waste is almost a non-issue, which makes it a great product to offer. There is such a push for conservation and being environmentally conscious, that the future of RO systems could be in jeopardy due to the drastic amount of water they waste.

Another huge advantage he sees in being a LINX dealer is the ability to offer a unique product. Now days, all the big box stores and even the internet sells RO systems, it has become such a common commodity that the profitability margin has gone down tremendously. You are also competing to replace parts, filters etc., so the residual business just isn’t what it once was; it is hard to make your product stand out against others when they are virtually the same. However, the LINX system is drastically different. The quality of water is the same, but the way in which it works is really what sells the system. You can show side by side comparisons and consumers are amazed at how little waste the LINX System has and frankly how much waste the RO systems have. The LINX System sells itself with the technology alone. Plus there is the added bonus of being able to “wow” his customers and that wow factor is infectious. Getting people genuinely excited and knocking their socks off with what he is offering them is such an awesome feeling.

On his business card it says “Filtration Enthusiast”, when asked about what makes him so enthusiastic, he jokingly replied “coffee … lots of coffee!” His work with water softeners over the years has shown him that while they are a useful tool and serve a purpose, their capabilities are limited. Water filtration takes water to the next level. The water where he lives and works in Minnesota has a particularly high concentration of Arsenic, as much as 5 – 7 times the legal limit in some places. The only way to remove Arsenic is with a filtration system, which is why he is so passionate about water filters. The LINX System is one of the most advanced Arsenic removal systems available on the market.

When Lars isn’t out in the field working, he can often be found working out of his home office. He thinks his 5 year old son could probably become a Level 1 Certified Water Specialist; he knows all about iron and iron filtration and can even discuss the differences between tap water and pure water. After hearing his father on business calls and “talking all day about water” he has had quite an education in the water industry.

In his spare time, he likes to get in a little weight lifting, both Olympic and power lifting as well as some snowboarding. He plays guitar and actually played in a couple bands back in college; a little Jimi Hendrix or some Black Keys playing in the background is a great way to unwind. Living life with his wife, 5 year old son, 15 month daughter, their 150 pound bull mastiff named Spin and a huge orange cat named Thor to round out the family, he can certainly say his life is never boring.
