Pionetics® Urges Increase in Water Conservation Efforts in April in Honor of Environmental Awareness Month & Earth Day
The maker of the LINX® Drinking Water System calls for a new era in water conservation, empowers individuals to reduce water waste
SAN CARLOS, CA– April 21, 2014 – Pionetics, the industry-leading maker of the LINX Drinking Water System, stresses the increased importance of water conservation in April, in honor of Earth Day. Pionetics’ innovative industry-leading, smart water filtration, LINX systems deliver great tasting drinking water while producing less wastewater than the largely outdated Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. Pionetics urges consumers and businesses to replace their RO systems to reduce massive wastage.
The majority of residential dwellings still use an antiquated RO filtration process to produce the high-quality water for drinking, cooking, and other daily activities, such as brewing coffee or tea. This process, developed in the 1970s, produces a significant amount of wastewater for every gallon it filters, with typical wastages of:
- Between eight and 15 gallons to produce just one gallon of drinking water;
- Approximately 1.5 gallons of water for every single glass of water poured to drink; and
- 11 gallons of wastage just to make one pot of coffee.
Often compared to using an 8-track in your car, the RO system is viewed as largely old-fashioned and not effective to making a significant impact in the ongoing wastewater crisis affecting several areas of the globe, the state of California in particular. In fact, Pionetics estimates that the average family could be wasting ten thousand gallons of water each and every year just in their kitchen alone- enough to fill an average-sized swimming pool.
By contrast, the LINX System developed by Pionetics enables active water conservation efforts, right in the comfort of your home or office. Instead of wasting 10,000 gallons of water each year, LINX’s ion-exchange drinking system can reduce this number to less than 158 gallons annually – a total of 98%. Systems like LINX deliver immediate relief to the conservation crisis, as opposed to the pending bond programs and funding to be allocated for infrastructure modernization at the state and federal levels. While they may be needed, these political measures often take many years to be put into practice. We need IMMEDIATE action! In addition, the LINX system is affordable, customizable to specific tastes, and adaptable, to adjust efficiently to the user’s specific water needs and conditions.
